First of all I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has left me messages about Kate.
The last few days have been very difficult but nothing compared to what her family must be going through. They have released a wonderful statement to the press which I am sure you will see over the next few days. I can only imagine the man involved made a terrible mistake as my head cannot process that someone would do something like that to Kate willingly.
I used to sit next to Kate at work and just wanted to tell you my thoughts of her. Kate was one of the funniest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her sense of humour was so dry, some often took her the wrong way but to me, meant I was constantly laughing and loving her company.
Kate was extremely sociable and had lots of good friends which is testament to the type of woman she was. I am so honoured that I am one of those friends and privileged that I knew her.
She loved a good cup of tea and would always ask to have my chocolate wrapper (Mars bar usually) when I'd finished so she could smell the chocolate without putting on any weight! On my last day at work before going on maternity leave, Kate deliberately played Cliff Richard's "Congratulations" very loudly, knowing how much I detest him!!!
Kate was a beautiful woman, inside and out and will be sorely missed.

Lesley - having been with you over the last 3 days I have got to hear a lot about Kate from you. It made watching the news about her very personal. It's just a tragic waste of a young life, like you I cannot understand what would make someone do this - none of it makes sense. I just wanted to say how I felt about it all and how sorry I am for her and the people she left behind. X.
What lovely words. I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend Kate, it is a truely terrible thing. I was really shocked when I saw her on the news - knowing that you knew her.
Thinking of you and her family
Alison
